This video is helpful. However, I haven't seen Professor Nasiri talk about elimination of bad leaving groups leading to Hoffman products & have never seen a question testing that knowledge on an exam. (~7:30-10:15 in the video~) 
Note: Dehydration of tertiary alcohols occurs faster than secondary alcohols, which occurs faster than primary alcohols. This reaction is reversible, so you can also turn alkenes into alcohols (markovnikov product) using the same reagents.
Additional Concepts from Ch11:
-Stability of Alkenes (Diagram)
-Heat of Hydrogenation of Alkenes (More unstable alkenes have higher heats of hydrogenation-- more negative ΔH) 
-Boiling point of Alkenes (Cis > Trans)
-Polarity of Alkenes (Cis > Trans)
